The Base for better future in Sankrit for higher education- today

Abstract:

The concept of “Education for complete Living of Education” as a “Preparation for adult life”. The concept of Human Knowledge is the relation between education and society “Sociology” means a discipline. It is based on the problems of education.

Human Knowledge based on physical physiological and social environment. Physics and Chemistry were parts of Philosophy. Philosophy has been classified into three branches — Natural philosophy  covering all physical and life sciences. Mental philosophy covering all social sciences including sociology  and moral philosophy.

For instance, Aristotle who is considered as a complete philosopher had written about all the subjects or knowledge of his times. He is referred to in serious discussions of various disciplines including education. There is a meaningful discussion of his views on education in his book on ‘Politics’ which is only one of his three classic treaties, the other two being ‘ Poetics and Ethics’. He had also written a book on psychology known as ‘De Anima’ or ‘Of the Soul’. Referring to this work only R.S. Wood Worth opened his book “Contemporary Schools of psychology’ with the sentence ” Psychology first had a soul, then it had mind(Locke), then it had Consciousness(Wundt) and now has behaviors’. As such, just as other sciences, even sociology was a branch of philosophy in education.

The Great poet Makakavi Kalidasa have discussed in the first canto of  कुमारसम्भवम् about the Geographical aspects of the Globe —

अस्त्युत्तरस्यां दिशि देवतात्मा

हिमालयो नाम नगाधिराज:।

पूर्वापरौ वारिनिधी विगाह्य

स्थितः पृथिव्या इव मानदण्डः॥

There is, in the north, the Lord of the mountains, the divine – soul Himavan. He stood like a measuring rod of the earth, having stretched into the eastern and western Oceans. देवतात्मा = The divine – soul. The poet will be describing both the forms of the Himalayas – the mountain form and the human form. This sentient and insentient forms are possible for Himavan because he is divine in nature and can take any form.

अन्तरिक्षविजयः —— Victory over space

Scientists became successful in Space Research. Human beings have travelled to other planets also with the great knowledge attained by continuous efforts, the desire to attain more knowledge and perseverance means that there is nothing impossible to man and he is capable of going with his physical body itself to the Lunar world. According to the Chandogya Upanishad only by the people of merit, who donned a body other than the physical body.

A comprehensive knowledge with a proper technical know — how with continuous efforts for sustainable growth are the main pillars of higher education – today.

Swami Vivekananda has rightly said ” Education is the manifestation of perfection already in man. We want that education by which character is formed  strength of mind is increased and intellect is expanded and  by which one can stand on once own feet.”

Vivekananda also visualized the  imparting of higher education of women. Unlike the present schemes, he outlined a separate curriculum for women which would include, besides religious instructions, photography, embroidery and home science.

This is essential to understand and obtained a better quality of higher education which will the  useful for scientific and research purpose.
